The Ellen MacArthur Trust are double winners at the 7th HantsWeb Awards
The Ellen MacArthur Trust were delighted to win two awards, ‘Best Charity or Voluntary Org website’, sponsored by Lagan and ‘Best Life Changing website’, sponsored by Civica at the 7th HantsWeb Awards in Winchester today (23 Feb).
The awards are held annually to ‘promote and provide recognition of excellence and innovation in design, accessibility and web service,’ and are open to any website or webservice based in or serving Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. The event took place at Intech Science Centre and Planetarium, where representatives from the three shortlisted websites in each of the 12 categories gathered for the ceremony, hosted by Wave 105 DJ Steve Power.
This was the first time the Ellen MacArthur Trust website, designed and build by OC Group and launched early last year, had entered this competition, and so we were thrilled to have been shortlisted for two of the awards and delighted to win both! The prize for all winners was a Dell Vostro laptop and a Hampshire County Council Culture All Passport, giving a years unlimited entry to attractions in the area.
You can see a full list of the winners and shortlisted websites on the HantsWeb Awards Website, and the reasons the judges selected the Trust website as the winner in both categories will also be posted there soon.

l-r Trevor Adams from category sponsors Lagan Technologies Ltd presented the award for best Charity or Voluntary Organisation Website to Tracy Curtis from the Trust, and Wez Maynard from OC Group who designed the site.
TESTIMONIALS
“Jay returned full of confidence, chat, and knowledge of sailing. Jay had ‘life’ back in his eyes. He enjoyed the whole experience. His highlight was the privilege of sailing a yacht with Ellen. He would love to sail again. He even cooked a lasagne on his own for his yachting crew (He never cooks!!) He was full of pride.”
- Mother of Jay, 16
