Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare host special ‘Girls Night’ for young people

IOW-based company Liz Earle have supported the Trust for several years now, providing fantastic goody-bags for the young people who sail with us as a pampering treat to take home at the end of their sailing trip, and regularly providing their natural beauty products for auction and raffle prizes to raise money.

Several months ago they suggested holding a special evening in their London store for young people who have been through treatment for cancer an leukaemia, and once a date was set, we opened the invitation to University College London Hospitals and the Royal Marsden. There was a great response, and last night our special guests brought along a friend or family member and were welcomed to Liz Earle’s flagship store off the Kings Road, London for an informal talk and demonstration on looking after the skin. This was followed by complimentary hand and face massages for all, with a chance to ask the expert team questions and try out the products.

None of the young people who attended had sailed with the Trust previously, but several expressed an interest in joining our sailing trips so we are hoping to see them again in the summer.  The evening ran for a couple of hours, and Liz Earle provided drinks and snacks throughout.  The hand massages were extremely popular and everyone left with a special personally- tailored skincare goody bag.  The whole evening was declared a great success.

Everyone at the Trust would like to thank Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare for their support over the years, and particularly the warm, helpful team who gave up their time to provide such a relaxing and informative evening for all.

TESTIMONIALS

“Dan returned very happy, positive, enthusiastic, talks about sailing all the time. Daniel is now keep to continue and improve his sailing skills. You are all doing a wonderful job and are giving back joy, confidence and happiness to children who have been through a very touch time. Daniel has expressed he would like to be a spokesperson for the Trust, maybe speaking to children in hospital about his experiences with the Trust, showing them that something good can come from the awful illness they have had, that what they have been through can make them a stronger person.” Mother of Dan, 16

TESTIMONIALS

“We have done so much this week, barbeques, water fights, football, and sailing! We’ve had loads of fun. I love boats, and it has been exciting to learn from such a great crew. I couldn’t pick the best thing about this week, although meeting Ellen was awesome! I would come back any day!”
