Little Britain Challenge Cup present EMT with cheque for £20,300
It was with great pleasure that the EMT team attended a reception on Thursday night (21st Jan) where Patron Ellen MacArthur accepted a cheque on behalf of the Trust for £20,300, raised during the Little Britain Challenge Cup Sailing Regatta 2009.
Back in 1998 Peter Thompson, Steve Green and Phil Davis, who were all consultants for the Little Britain Office Development on London Wall organised a yacht race to mark the end of the project. The original wager for the single race was the price of a dinner, 22 years later it is the biggest regatta in England after Cowes Week, and is easily the biggest European industry event.
However, LBCC is about so much more than a yacht race. Over the last 22 years LBCC has raised well over 1 million pounds for charity, and over the last five years provided the Trust with over £137,000 of support. We simply would not be where we are without LBCC.
A huge thanks to all those involved in LBCC, you make what we do possible.

TESTIMONIALS
“This is the first time I have been sailing, and I never thought it would be this good! I have really enjoyed the trip and learnt loads like how to tie knots, use the winches and hoist the sail. I would definitely come back again to see the friends I have made”
- Jorge, 15
TESTIMONIALS
“Tyler gained lots of confidence and lots of new friends who he is still in touch with. I’m really glad he went. To meet children who have been through the same thing is invaluable. Whilst sailing, Tyler met a volunteer who had had the same cancer as Tyler and was in his twenties. That gave him a lot of hope for the future.”
- Mother of Tyler, 15
