Windsurf Channel Crossing to raise money for The Ellen MacArthur Trust
The route chosen by Guy and
Antoine is one that no other windsurfers have tried before, from Cherbourg to Poole, where Guy is based. Guy had planned to undertake this crossing last year with a group of windsurfers, but a combination on the costs involved with such a large group and the amount of paperwork involved meant plans were put on hold until this year. Guy has windsurfed from Bournemouth to Brighton in the past, but this is his most challenging long-distance windsurfing event to date. One of Guy's sponsors, Animal, will be providing a support boat for the duration of their crossing in case conditions deteriorate.
