Day Six : Water bomb campaign waged on The Solent!

As the weather took hold of the racing in Cowes today and the glorious temperature that people were enjoying on land, meant frustration out on the water with racing postponed across the fleet. The crew on board The Ellen MacArthur Trust boat Scarlet Oyster took advantage of the endless supply of water bombs on board and starting waging a small water bombing campaign on the boats that were killing time waiting for racing to resume.

Top of the Trust's list was Dick Johnson on board the Cowes Week Radio RIB, who caught one of the most direct hits of the day.  The concern for the transmitter on board caused Dick a few issues, after which he proceeded to warn the other boats to beware of the naughtiest boat in the fleet!

Feeling a little sorry the crew returned to issue an apology to Dick (see picture below)

With racing starting very late in the day, Scarlet Oyster chose to retire and head out on their own steam for a quick sail in The Solent. Tomorrow will see the final day of racing for the young crew and with over 1000 water bombs used so far and a shortage of supplies on land, the other boats may well stay dry!
