Walkers complete their marathon (and a half!!!)
18.15pm - Our MGM Assurance walkers have finally made it to their finish line at UKSA, Cowes. The 10 strong team started out from UKSA at 4.30am to walk to their 5.00am start from the Royal Yacht Squadron. Thirteen hours and fifteen minutes later the first two walkers were greeted with cheers and champagne by the Trust yacht crews at UKSA after walking an incredible 35 miles!!!Chris Bagg and Daniel Ford were the first to arrive home. Chris said although he was exhausted he was pleased to have no blisters unlike many of the team. "I was always determined to finish and not stop before the end. I would do it again next year although maybe a shorter course!" The team reported seeing impressive views on the way round, and the spectacle of the Island surrounded by yachts. We would like to thank them all for their dedication and amazing endurance levels which spurred them on to complete the admittedly challenging course, and for the fantastic amount of money they have raised to support the Trust.
