London Corinthian Sailing Club donates £500

During one of the 2004 trips the children were invited to The Island Sailing Club to judge the LCSC's annual fancy dress party. Thank you to all those who looked after the children and thanks too for the cheque - we really appreciate your help and support.

Helen Symes circumnavigates The Isle of Wight on foot in 24 hours and raises £250

Helen Symes, the Finance Manager for the UKSA, a working partner of the trust, raised over £250 by walking non stop around the Isle of Wight. She completed the walk in 23 hours 7 minutes of NON STOP WALKING! She says she feels fine now, but after the event she couldn't sit down for 5 days! Thanks Helen, what a great achievement.

Royal Southampton Yacht Club raises £1,820 for Trust

The second event to take place last month was an event organised by Suzy James of The Royal Southampton Yacht Club. They organised a fun horse racing evening at their club in Ocean Village. Thanks to the generosity of their members, a total of £1,820 was raised on the evening.

Matthew Hunt completes the London Marathon and raises £1,300

Matthew Hunt successfully completed the London Marathon back in May and raised a cool £1,352! When it was explained to him that he had raised an amount that equated to paying for the costs of taking out a child on a four day trip with Ellen he said: "Fantastic, that makes it worth all the pain and suffering!" Thanks Matthew.

Sussex Yacht Club Royal Escape Presentation Dinner

On Friday 10th June the Royal Escape Race Black Tie Presentation Dinner was held at Sussex Yacht Club and the winners of the race were awarded their trophies and prizes. The club’s two chosen charities were represented; Sussex Sailability and The Ellen MacArthur Trust and both were presented with large cheques demonstrating the clubs hard work and dedication to fundraising over the past few months. A previous commodore raised £1200 alone by shaving off his long-standing beard of 30 years!
